Ways to feel more connected to your witchy self…

Feeling connected to your' ‘witchy’ self isn’t always consistent. In fact, I can name numerous times in my life when I have felt incredibly disconnected from my practice and the Universe. It doesn’t mean you're failing, it means you’re growing, you’re changing, you are becoming a higher version of yourself. I’m not gonna say there is some magical way and you need to collect these 5 items blah blah blah, here are some simple ways to help you connect and feel grounded:

  1. Watch the moon.

It sounds simple, but building a quiet awareness of the moons phases can make you feel more connected to the earth and your practice, without it being too complicated.

You don’t have to follow strict rules for every moon phase and i’m not gonna ask you to go to a full moon party. Just noticing the moon is enough, it knows your intentions and need for connection. Taking a moment and breathing in deep creates a sense of rhythm and connection overtime.

It becomes less about working with the moon in a structured way and more about feeling in tune with something consistent and grounding. That small amount of awareness can bring you back into your practice in a way that feels natural, not forced.

  2. Sit in silence.

Not every part of your practice needs to be theatrical or intentional in an obvious way. Sometimes the most grounding thing you can do, is nothing at all. I feel like people forget this is an option. Nothing is the best way you can protect your peace and reconnect with yourself.

Sitting in silence gives you time away from noise, expectations and the feeling that you always need to be doing something practical. Silence creates a space, where you are able to notice your thoughts, your energy and how YOU feel in that moment.

    Quietness is where connection builds.

  3. Light a candle with intention.

It doesn’t have to be part of some big ritual - just the simple act of lighting a candle can become a moment of connection. Before you light it, take a second to focus on what you want to bring on or let go of. It can be something small or something specific. As the flame burns, visualise your intention for a minute and then let the flame burn.

It’s one of the easiest ways to add a moment of connection into your day. Small, intentional moments like this can be just as meaningful as more complex practices.

  4. Spend time in nature.

You don’t need to do anything complicated, just being outside can help you feel more grounded and connected to your practice. Whether it’s going on a walk, sitting in your garden or noticing the way the trees move, it all brings your focus back to something that is steady and real.

It’s not about anything specific in this time, just being observant, slowing down and letting yourself exist in that moment is enough.

  5. Journal your thoughts.

Writing things down can be simple, but powerful. It doesn’t have to be structured or perfect - just letting your thoughts flow onto the page can help you make sensing of how you’re feeling, what you’re noticing or working through. You can write about your day, your intentions, your spell work, your experiences with your practice or even things you don’t fully understand yet.

Overtime it becomes a space where you can track your growth, reflect on patterns and deepen your connection to yourself and you intuition. You don’t have to write anything meaningful, Just give yourself the space the be honest and present.

  6. Notice synchronicities.

These are small moments that feel a little too coincidental to be random, repeating numbers, patterns or things showing up at the right time. You don’t need to search for them or force meaning into everything (I think we are all guilty of doing that) It’s more about paying attention to what you notice, what catches your eye or what naturally stands out. When you start to notice these synchronicities, it can feel like you’re more intone with your surroundings and the messages the Universe is trying to give you.

Over time, this builds a quiet sense of connection. But not everything is a synchronicity, sometimes they just exist without any hidden meaning (take it from me).

There’s a fun little game my Mum and I like to play with the Universe. When we feel a bit lost, need confirmation or sometimes just because it’s cool, we ask the Universe for a sign. It has to be specific, the Universe doesn’t like when you ask for vague messages. An example would be, at a very turbulent time in my life, I asked for ladybugs. They have always been my message from the Universe to ‘keep going’. But during this period of hardships, I attached my ladybug messages to something else, something I wanted desperately. I was extremely confused because I was getting my ladybugs but the Universe wasn’t giving me what I needed. It wasn’t until I spoke to a medium that I realised I am misinterpreting the signs the Universe is giving me. Our brains are fickle and they can find ‘meaning’ in anything if we want it bad enough. So now I try to ask for extremely specific signs within a certain time frame, so I know 100% if the Universe is sending synchronicities to me for that reason.

Take what works for you and leave the rest, you don’t have to do them all to begin to feel connected again.

Go in love and light xx
